Tranexamic acid, chemically known as tranexamic acid, initially appeared in toothpaste to improve gum bleeding, and now in the field of daily chemicals for whitening and freckle removal. Its whitening mechanism is unique, as a protease inhibitor, it does not directly act on tyrosinase but acts on the upstream link of melanin production.
